Description

This is a flat bed planter for an aquarium. We have planted some grass and java fern in aquarium round bead soil.

Our Kuhli loaches love lying on the soil and under the planter.

The legs have a nice hexagonal pattern which can stand on top of gravel or sand and if needed can be pushed further into the sand/gravel.

One thing I did when replanting the java fern was to use up some of the practice legs I printed and glued the java fern to them and planted them under the soil, that makes it harder for the java fern to get pulled out. (alternatively you can glue some pebbles to the java fern roots.

The planter tray has some holes in its base to let the water out if you need to adjust or replant. It also has peg holes in the underside of each corner. The legs fit in to the peg holes.

I printed these in black eSun Pla+ at a 0.28mm layer height to match with the colour of the sand. No supports needed.

I would recommend using PLA or PETG for use in an aquarium. PLA will not “melt” in water, I have PLA in a pool for years and PLA in tank for over a year.

Dimensions of bed: 120mm x 80mm x 25mm

Leg height: 31.8mm
