The original requires you purchase M3 Knurled Thumb Nuts, which can be difficult to obtain in some areas. I designed a 3d printable nut/screw similar to the original CV1 screw to hold the headphones. It is easy to put on and holds very well. The only hardware required are 3.5mm audio connectors which can be found anywhere, or salvaged from old audio equipment, along with some wiring.

Instructions (pictures included in post)

• Gently screw on the 3d printed nut straight on to the CV1 headphones. This will create the thread (it is printed slightly smaller to leave room for a thread to be created). If it takes a lot of effort, something is wrong as it should go on fairly easy with PLA (or PLA+).
• Use some braided wire (24 Gage works well), strip of almost a thumb width and coil/compress the braided wire inside of the hole at the ends (see pictures). This will be the connection point for the spring loaded CV1 connectors.
• Apply a tiny amount of hot snot (hot glue) into the wiring ducts to help secure the wire. Do not glue the end connectors. If you don't have hot snot, you can try other things (like melting in some 3d filament).
• Connect the wire to the 3.5mm audio connector. Make sure to connect the right and left channels only to the corresponding side.
• Since this was a straight connector that would stick out to much, I left the case off and just applied some hot snot to keep everything protected.
• Snap them on and play. If they are too high over your ears, the back part of your HMD is too high and you need to bring it down to cup the back of your head (this is how you're supposed to wear it).
