It allows an Aqara sensor to be hung on walls that are averse to the supplied 3M double-sided tape, such as wallpaper, or outside brick walls.

This for a Temperature/Humidity sensor of approx. size 37mm x 37mm x 9mm.

I use it for an Aqara Zigbee sensor - although it should also work for Wi-Fi models, or any rebranding of similar size.

I use it outside, in a shaded area. In this case, you might want to consider filaments that are not averse to an outside environment, and definitely not directly exposed to wet weather.
