Description

Model

IMPORTANT: READ BEFORE PRINTING

There are two 3MF files. First one is for people with an AMS. Just load the filaments as below and go.

The second profile is for people with NO AMS. The pauses are set at the correct layers so all you have to do is load the black to start then at each pause unload and load the correct filaments in order as below and hit resume. Repeat until complete.

*

Avoid other print profiles that try to save time by using a thicker layer height. This layer height is necessary to blend the colors. I have already added a layer height modifier to the black to print 0.16 layer height for the non-blended portions to speed up the print without sacrificing quality.

*

This is a filament painting of your favorite smart mouthed anti-hero, Deadpool. This is the latest addition to my Ink Set series, you can find more HERE. Like all of my models this is for personal use only. If you would like to hang this here is my frame which fits it perfectly. The photo attached is the printed model.

*

Like all Hueforge prints this model produces very little waste (4 poops total).

*

Print at 100% infill with a layer height of 0.08mm with a base layer of 0.16mm (Layer height modifier can be added manually if you are using the STL (0.00 to 0.64mm @0.16 layer height, and 0.08 for the rest, to shave off about a half hour of print time. It is already done in the 3MF files attached)

*

Filaments Used:
PLA PolyLite Black Transmission Distance: 0.3
PLA BambuLab Basic Blue Gray Transmission Distance: 3
PLA BambuLab Matte Ash Gray Transmission Distance: 1.5
PLA BambuLab Basic Jade White Transmission Distance: 5

*

Swap Instructions:
Start with Black
At layer #12 (1.04mm) swap to Blue Gray
At layer #20 (1.68mm) swap to Ash Gray
At layer #28 (2.32mm) swap to Jade White for the rest.

I start with midjourney for most images then edit them in inkscape because there is always something that bugs me or I want to add to them. Venom's teeth were terrible so I did a lot of dentistry and other editing. The batman is a multiple image composite that are all edited. Some that I have posted in comments or online are original artworks from clients I print T-shirts for or tattoo artists that I work with like this one attached. If you have a request let me know and I will get to it.

Amazing, that looks really great! And how long do you need for a picture? Sounds very time-consuming.

It varies from piece to piece but the longest one was like 4 days of on and off editing and dialing in hueforge to make the Shivan Dragon MTG card which was two pieces glued together. I really like doing graffiti style like this which takes me about 1-2 days of non full time work.

Perfect turn out, I changed it to add in red. And thank you for the help with the initial layers. I'm going to use that configuration in mine going forward, as I felt like your file had a bit more heft to it than mine!

Looks good! I tested a bunch of different thicknesses for the "Min Depth" setting in Hueforge and 0.64 was the sweet spot for me. On models with a lot of exposed base color (usually black) they sit nicely in the frame and don't bow. Anything thinner than that did. Just make sure you change that setting in HF first, as the model needs to have those base layers without blending for this to work correctly in the slicer.

Thanks! I did change my hueforge defaults right away so I wouldn't forget going forward. It wasn't noticeable in my first couple, because the base layer wasn't on the edge. It wasn't until I had a full black edge that I really noticed it.

the profile was great but it detached from the bed at the very end so it didn’t reach completion. I am excited to give it another go.

poor bed adhesiom is not an issue with the profile and should not be a reason for a downgraded rating. you need to clean your bed. alcohol is not enough after a while. you need to take it to a sink and give it a good scrub with dawn dishsoap and a sponge every once and a while. my gold pei plates were magic for adhesion until they werent. dawn dishsoap was the best remedy. hope this helps

sorry I should have mentioned, I tried to give you 5 stars but the prompt told me you can’t do a rating higher than 3 until the profile is successfully printed. I plan to update it when I get it right if that’s ok.Edit: love the work and sorry about the rating mix up 🙏🏾
