I had to make some cookies for an office party and decided to make these.
Recommend printing in something tougher than standard PLA. PETG works fine.
A ghost eye template is included. I originally tried drizzling icing into the template, but it took too long and was too messy. Ultimately I used the eye template to cut out some white fondant, and that worked great.
The pupils of the ghost eyes are M&Ms. If you want to be arcade accurate, they're dark blue (not black). M&M on their website will sell you bags of one or two specific colors, so I bought a bag of dark blue and white (for when the ghosts are “scared”).
Here's my grandma's cookie recipe that I always use:
Melt In Your Mouth Sugar Cookies
1 cup butter softened
1 1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cream of tartar
Cream 1 cup of butter and 1.5 cups of powdered sugar. Add 1 egg and 1
teaspoon of vanilla. Add 2.5 cups of flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, and 1 teaspoon
of cream of tartar. Chill dough. Roll it out thin and cut. Bake for 5
minutes at 400 degrees.
Tip: The bake time is dependent on how thick they are rolled out. Check after 5 minutes.
Tip: An insulated cookie sheet is highly recommended.
Tip: For easier rolling, divide the dough into halves or thirds and form each portion into a flattened disc. Wrap in wax paper for chilling. If you chill the dough overnight, let each packet of dough stand at room temperature for ten minutes before rolling.
