Description

The Rocktopus is one of the funniest 3d models I've ever printed.

NO SUPPORTS NEEDED

Might want to use a brim or raft for better bed adhesion. I just used slower first layer speeds and it printed fine.

The original file is licensed under Creative Commons - Attribution.

I did the quickest print that was offered and it came out great! No issues at all. I made a second one and give them both out as gifts. definitely a fun project!

Two of the legs started moving while it was printing, but other then that it printed excellently.

I used a textured PEI plate, and used inland PLA+ on the generic pla setting. I also didn’t use a glue stick on the plate. Honestly, idk why I gave 4 stars, the print failure was entirely my fault lol.

Print Profile

10/10, this is an amazing and goofy print. The first time I printed it on my P1S I had some issues with a couple of the legs getting messed up towards the tips, but that was more than likely my fault. He now sits atop my printer, keeping guard and occasionally falling off due to vibrations. I ended up printing another in green, this time for a coworker, and it printed out flawlessly, no issues with the legs at all. She absolutely loves her Rocktopus!!

I would give this 5 stars but for some reason my printer doesn’t think I did this print twice, one of which was a successful print, the other was a filament (user) issue. the filament got tangled and messed up the print.

Overall printed well. Too much brim and higher step height looks rough on the top of head. Could use some adaptive layering to improve. Head snapped off <12 hours after printing.
