This mod is for the Kichly 4l cereal box (oval chute opening, vailable in germany, united kingdom, france, spain, maybe all over europe @mazon (search "kichly 4l", best price @ UK, incl. shipping to GER))…(not found @ amazon.us (sry)).
The filament stays dry in the airtight container during printing.
In addition, I have integrated a silica container that can hold up to 70g of silica.
It can also hold very small spools (Ø135-145mm) and standard spools (Ø200mm) with a maximum width of 58mm. which are still rolling.
If you want to keep your hygroscopic filaments (ABS/PETG/TPU, etc.) dry throughout, this variant is a very good choice.
I use this mod for TPU, because I do not want to pass through the AMS, according to forums there are probably problems.
As can be seen in the photos, a support roller for small / large spools can be offset.
No PTFE fittings M6/M10 are needed. The opening can be used directly with 4mm PTFE hoses.
The fitting is a standard bottle cap that can be used by water bottles and other sugar drinks.
You only need 4x 608ZZ ball bearings, 0.5m PTFE hose and the cereal box.
The attachment in the lid is kept very tight and it must be tamped with the screwdriver on the seal (photo).
The hygro holder is optional and tilted forwards so that the display is closer to the plastic and easier to read.
The nice thing is, the box can be used again for its original purpose, because no hole must be drilled and nowhere glued.
Note 1: To store your filament only, use my other cereal box release!
Note 2: Calibrate your filament before printing (for example: Sunlu/Jayo PLA+ -> K-Factor = 0.025 & Flow Ratio = 0.98)!!!!
Note 3: You need each print profile for a whole set
Note 4: Easy removal of the minimalistic support
Filling:
Fill the silica into the bottom tray.
Lift the lower part into the box (photo).
Click the hygrometer holder into the lid
Take the hygrometer holder and insert the lid into the box (photo)
