Description

A side cover for the 5pc/10pc Build Plate Rack from toolmantim313 (check out his work) inspired by Build Plate Rack Side Panel
from jkdsheehan.

This plate is a bit thicker, so it doesn't sag especially if you use the rack lying. I made 3 Versions, so you can choose the orientation of the logo or print it without. For a nice finish, influenced by your build plate, it's printed face down.

Printing

All needed settings are included in the provided print files. No brim is needed, if you're using the cold plate, clean it with IPA or mild soap and lukewarm wate, let it dry and put some gluestick on it. Cleaning the build plate before printing such a big print is always recommended.

Important: Remove the flow calibration line before the print starts, or they will end in the final piece!

Installation

To screw it in place, use regular M3x10-12mm.

I didn't try the original stand if it fits or not.

Material used

I used Sunlu PLA+ black and eSun ePLA-Silk Magic blue/green. The effect is achieved by printing it on a PEO sheet from IdeaFormer.

what settings do you use to print on those build plates. I have massive sticking problems. i tried a lot of different ways, but no chance, nothing sticks on that plate. any advise would be appreciated. I'm using a x1c and have the same problems in the carbon look pattern build plate or the same like you're showing in your picture.

I only saw your comment just now. I turned down the speed a bit in general and it was printed with P1 with enclosure without the big aux fan installed and slicer still thinking its the open P1, so slightly higher bed temps. The other thing is I did wash my olates right before the print with some dish washing soap and warm water, just put a few dabs on there and rub them around the plate, then rub dry with clean towel and if you want some alcohol and lint-free cloth after that. make sure then not to touch the buildplate where it will be printed. Hope this helps!

the build plate holder isn’t complete without the side panel, looks great. Don’t forget to turn off the extrusion test before you print it (see photo, still looks great though). I used Bambu PLA Silk silver and Bambu PLA Metal Iron Gray for the logo and it came out georgeous.
