Print everything, 64 blocks, (32 of each colour) and two each of the side pieces, labeled I, II, III, IIII.
Normal settings, 0.2mm, 10% grid infill.
The order for edge pieces around the board is like this,
I II
IIII I
III II
IIII III
I built the edge first then started clicking pieces in. Connections are firm, so fingers might get sore a bit like mine did…
Other info
Wanted to have a two colour board for the Lewis Chessmen(https://www.myminifactory.com/object/3d-print-the-lewis-chessmen-at-the-national-museum-of-scotland-20752) but it is a large board 420mm (48mm blocks) so it needed to be done in multiple prints, the most obvious was to split at the indiviual block level.
Tolerances took a few iterations, here all the mating faces are set back 0.05mm making for a firm fit that can still be clicked together. Not really designed to be taken apart, but it could be.
