Description

Instructions for customizing name plate:

  1. Download and open attached Fusion 360 file under Raw files
  2. Edit sketch named `sketch1`
  3. Double click on the text you would like to change (either the main name, or the country code)
  4. Update the text and adjust the `Height` and `Font` to your liking
  5. Save your sketch and everything should be adjusted in the model
  6. Adjust any other Parameters in `Modify → Change Parameters`
  7. Export as `.3mf`

Print instructions:

  1. Load exported `.3mf` file in Slicer
  2. When you load the model everything will be in the same color so you will need to set the filament accordingly
  3. Change all the `star` objects to white
  4. Change the `base` to white
  5. Change `CountryBadgeBase` to Blue
  6. Find the corresponding object for the country letters and change to white (in my example this was `body 1`, but that could change depending on how you customized the Fusion 360 file)
  7. Adjust scale to you liking
  8. I like to print with the text facing down on the build plate, but that is personal preference

Additional parameters

The Fusion 360 file is almost fully parameterized so you can adjust the name plate farther than just the text. The following parameters are available to change in `Modify → Change Parameters`:

  • `width`: The overall width of the name plate
  • `height`: The overall height of the name plate
  • `frameWidth`: The thickness of the frame
  • `countryBadgeWidth`: The width of the blue badge on the left
  • `starPadding`: Spacing between stars and edge of blue badge
  • `starDiameter`: How large the stars are
  • `thickness`: Overall thickness/depth of plate
  • `frameRadius`: Radius of frame corners
  • `partDepth`: This is the depth the different parts cut into the base. If you want to minimize color switching when printing, you could adjust this to be smaller so there are fewer layers with filament switches

Great design, easy to modify and customize. In my case I changed the font to one used on polish plates 😉
