Both the excavator and the egg was each designed to be printed in place without any support structures. The excavator has rotatable wheels, liftable arm and articulated bucket and rotatable body. The egg is hinged

Skirts are turned off for the excavator which seem to be needed with all of the smaller parts. Even with them turned on in particular the part between the wheels has a tendency to detach from the build plate when working the overhang. It seems like it needs to be attached so some other part of the body maybe by shrinking the wheels and running a wall facing the pivoting piece.

Did you mean brim? I am sorry but if you need brim for that, something is not properly calibrated. I printed like 100 of them and every one was without brim and not single one detached from bed! And even if it causing you problems with brim, then something is really messed up with you printer or your plate is oily.

Yeah I meant brim. So it's a thoroughly washed + IPAd gold plate in a p1p. The overhang is really thin and steep and wants to curl up and eventually starts rocking as the nozzle works the infill. Were you printing on an enclosed machine? I just put the p1s kit on and will toy with fan settings to see if I can get better control on that cooling.

I had repeated failures of the excavator today until I put down a strip of blue painters tape where the last failed print had been. I rubbed the painters tape with isopropyl alcohol on a paper towel to soften it up and immediately ran the print with no flow test but everything else on. It printed flawlessly. Prior to that, I had tried putting support material between the wheels and the end parts that break away. I also set the XY clearance of the support material really low. The support didn’t seem to help, but it was still there when I ran the last print with the painters tape. When I peeled the painters tape away, the support material came away with it.

This was a print by piece so was able to print each a different color without multiple filament changes. Extraordinary outcome. Articulating parts a little sticky and was afraid I'd break it but it did fine and it's adorable. Multi angle rainbow silk PLA for egg with basic gold for excavator.

Overall a great print but lacks supports and therefore the printer didn't print a part of the excavator

I tried printing just the excavator at a larger size, around 5 inches and can not get a consistent print without the pieces by the wheels separating or breaking. everything is calibrated perfectly and bed/temps are good. I tried adhesive and a small brim, still have the breakage.. any tips or ideas would be awesome. Thank you.

printed fine, a little imperfection at base as you can see in photo next to front wheel… but other than that great little print in place. smooth articulation. egg little hard to open.
