Description

This is a new version!   More solidly built.  Better pictures.

I never quite found a roosting bar I liked for baby chicks, so I made my own. I don't have chicks right now, but the STL chick in the picture is true to size for a 1 day old. I also put the flat part at the top so that when chicks are roosting, they can drop their body and cover their feet so they don't get cold. I've had chickens for years and years, and this works for me. This is ONLY for use in the brooder and should only be used with 2-3 chicks. I've often printed 2 or 3 of them so everyone had room.

Great roost for the little chicks! One note, the model itself has a couple of flaws - the legs sticking out at the bottom - one was not attached at all. Thankfully, even 3 legged it's stable enough for them to play on. I'd throw it back in a modeler and make sure the leg portions are directly attached and a single piece with the rest of the frame below.

Thanks! I just put up a new one that's much better. It has more support in the middle and is solid.
