Description

This incredibly useful model was originally uploaded on Printables by @Eli_231837 - https://www.printables.com/model/207857-oil-filter-wrench-15-flute-75mm-od

IMPORTANT: Be sure to take careful measurements of your oil filters outer diameter to ensure a good fit. My fit was quite snug on a 75MM OD filter. Scaling up 1-2% might not be a bad idea if your filament of choice is prone to shrinkage.

My remix includes a few changes to better suit my needs. Most family homes like mine have multiple vehicles, which usually results in multiple oil filter types/sizes. So my first modification of this model was to label it with embedded text that specifies the inner diameter of the tool, and the number of flutes - as this is vital to a proper fit. My next modification was to tweak/repair the model in Fusion 360 - as it had some anomalies that when sliced in Bambu Studio, caused an automatic infill of the tools cavity - which was obviously undesirable. My last effort was to strengthen the tool around its most heavily stressed components, and to craft a meticulous print profile that I STRONGLY recommend printing in PETG, as it will be the most durable material for layer adhesion, given the stresses that this tool will endure. The profile has been set up to have the strongest orientation and print strength, without wasting material. It is pre-supported with the minimal amount of supports required to achieve success, and is also optimized for bed adhesion, and full speed printing.
