Description

Moon lamp I made using a lithophane generator, where I then modeled a base that can hide the cord and support the lithophane globe with alternated wall mount version that allows the moon to be suspended in air.

I printed the globe on the base in voxel labs cool white PLA + (which prints beautifully with the “bambu pla tough” preset) and gives the moon a “cool” color. The hanging moon was printed in Bambu's matte white PLA and appears more “warm”.

The base / wall hanger is printed in Bambu's matte black.

You'll need a cord along with a small LED lightbulb like this, so it doesn't get too hot and fits inside the moon.

To attach the bottom to the base you'll also need 3 m3 screws of any length between 8mm and 20mm. I used some screws from this set.

The screws will cut their own threads in the base to secure the cord in place.

thanks for the upload! I'm only seeing the stands. Which moon model should be used for these? And, did it require supports?

If you click on "Download raw model files" you will see 1 .3mf file, download that one and open i Bambu Studio, on plate 3 you will see the moon ;-)

Currently those high detailed models are too big for the web slicer. I uploaded the other components, except for the moon itself, but hope, that this will change soon.

Hi, I was wondering if the moon prints with supports on the inside to support the top part of it (bottom part when hung). Is this correct?

I use so.e supports when I print mine, but I use the manual setting and get a smaller circle inside the moon at the top.

I did use some support because I will hang this lamp in my kids room. And this way the top(or underside when hanging) was printing better
