Description

I would like to introduce my project to you.

 

In search of a suitable ambient light for my work/gaming area, I came across the following lights:

However, I found them to be too expensive, and during my research, I realized that they usually consist of normal RGB LEDs, where only all LEDs can be controlled simultaneously. I couldn't find such a design on various websites (Cults, Printables, Thingiverse, and Makerworld). So I started Fusion and designed and printed the following lamp. The software runs on an ESP32, which cost about 5€. The print took about 3 hours and 98 cents according to the Slicer. The LEDs are Ws2812b LEDs, which can be controlled individually. The meter with 144 LEDs per meter costs just under 8€. This combination allows me to program thousands of different effects via WLAN and app. In total, the lamp is 165mm high and fits perfectly on the work surface. Total costs and result: Less than 10€ and many more effects.

The second version, which I will start at some point, will, among other things, support a different orientation in landscape format, connection of several lamps to one ESP, and different sizes.

Wiring:

Due to the potentially high output current, an electrical circuit needs to be built, which I have soldered onto a circuit board. For this, I have attached a wiring diagram. However, the circuit can also be built with Wago connectors in the form of a Y-connection.
