Description

Edit: Just got a iPhone 14 Pro with case and if fits fine.

Hello, this was a much longer build than I anticipated. There are Multiple versions. This mount is made to hold almost any phone up to 150mm tall. but you could always lengthen the model in your slicer for larger phones.
You can print with or without the bottom legs. The current models are set up for a 20mm wide trim piece is compatible with my 2019 Ram 1500. Although, there's an endless list of vehicles this will work with. If you have any other vehicle, first thing to do is print one of the legs ("LEGSPRINT2.stl") and adjust (length only) in slicer to where the legs will securely fit on the trim piece in front of your instrument cluster behind the steering wheel. See Picture.

Here is a breakdown of available models.

SOLIDRAM.stl : [First Picture] This is a complete mount that has "RAM" embossed and legs all in one that will require support to print and some post clean up. (Be careful not to break rear legs during cleanup as it is inset a little from back of mount).

SOLIDBLANK.stl : [Second Picture] This is a complete mount with no lettering. If your trim piece is 20mm between clear plastic of your instrument cluster and front of trim, This should work for the vast majority of vehicles.

MOUNTNOLEGS: [Third Picture] This is just the mount without the legs. The advantage of this one is it is way quicker print and very little support is needed, but maybe not as pretty as the legs will be exposed more. This will allow you to adjust the legs forward and backward. which sets the angle your phone will be positioned. Print two of the model "LEGSPRINT2.stl" (NOTE: When Legs are oriented correctly, the underside of the mount is smooth across the legs in place, if you have them backwards, the legs will stick out on the bottom a little.

  1. LEGSPRINT2.stl These are the legs, you'll need to print two if you use the "MOUNTNOLEGS.stl" model.

I printed with 0.2mm layer height and worked great. I recommend PETG if you live in a hotter climate. I used PLA+ and it has worked great.
I used CA Glue to attach the legs to the "MOUNTNOLEGS.stl" model. If you have the legs sized correctly, no glue is needed to mount the model in your vehicle. DO NOT PUT GLUE ON YOUR VEHICLE TRIM, your *wife will get mad.. Although, a tiny piece of double sided tape on bottom center of mount or a little bit of Loctite Fun Tak or Poster Putty can help if its not super secure side to side.

Lastly, if you are just starting out and unsure how to size the legs, send me a message and I’ll help all I can.
God bless:)

This model is not made or endorsed by Ram Truck™️ or it’s affiliates. Of course, this model is for “off-road use only” :) Depending on your vehicle, this mount may block very important, time sensitive, critical vehicle information or warnings. USE at YOUR OWN RISK. Use not permitted on Tuesday evenings between 7:20pm and 7:23pm. Always seek your doctor’s advise before starting this or any other modeling program. PLA dust may be dusty. Caution, model(s) may contain sharp edges. Adult supervision required. All Rights Reserved. “RAM” refers to big ole goat type animals and has nothing to do with any company. Just one of those coincidences that the name on my model name is a Homonym for the animal type that I’m displaying. Are you still reading this? The model isn’t going to print itself? We technically I guess it could, but my point is you should probably stop reading and move on to try and at least get one thing done today. *If you are offended by my use of “wife will get mad” above. Please remove “wife” and insert your choice of authoritative figure. If you have no authoritative figure, perhaps a childhood hero? If you are not beholden to any person, creature or entity, and you prefer to throw caution ⚠️ to the wind, then you may use glue on your trim piece (of course after signing a waiver stating you fully understand and consent that using glue on the trim may be considered socially unacceptable and could potenial diminish your vehicle resale value. Do not set any portion of this model on fire as it could get hot.
