Description

Summary

UPDATE So mdaneman68 did a lowpro remix of my stand using the right angle usb adapters. Awhile back I actually bought a few of these adapters in order to design one also, however other projects got priority. Well it turned out the adapters I got via eBay were just a slight wider than the ones he used off amazon (they have little bumps along the side of female half). Instead of remixing my original design I just remixed his by slightly widening it and adding that little material saving oval cutout my other designs have. I also added a little USB logo cuz why not. I've attached a picture of what the usb adapter I used looks like.

**Added a v2 that brings the LED light a little bit closer for those lithophanes that dont have a much height and you can see the led poking out above the lithophane. This is about as close as I could go before the lighting would start creating hot spots and not fully illuminate the entire lithophane with the particular USB led light I'm using in the picture.

I was looking to use those cheap touch USB lights from Amazon for Lithophane lighting. Found a lighting mount that worked pretty universally with a bunch of USB cables I had and was relatively low material. I wanted it to hold bigger lithophanes than 150mm and I like the ToolMoon 180mm stand (but those lights are a little too expensive with the shipping and wait time from China) so I decided to combine the 2 together. I also opened up the oval cut out a tad more to cut down on a small bit of material without really changing the look too much. Now I can get 10 of these usb lights off amazon next day for same price as one toolmoon light and use them with all the extra usb cables I have laying around the house....hope this helped someone else out!

I just printed it in PLA with about 20 or so infill, whatever floats your boat. You can refer to the toolmoon thing (attached via the remix sources) to get the exact lithophane setting, but like i mentioned its 180mm
