Description

In addition to the camera in the printer, I wanted a different perspective and also the option to change the position of the camera slightly.
Unfortunately, the Bambu Lab printer's housing is very reflective, so I didn't want to simply mount it in front of it.

Therefore, the camera had to be mounted directly on the glass and it had to be ensured that no light would shine in from the side - at the same time, it had to be mounted in such a way that there would be no problems during operation.

After 2-3 attempts with different magnets (the first ones were too weak), I found the right one... The housing sticks! 📷

Can also be mounted on any other printer/laser and CNC housing, also use it on several devices

Magnets 25x4x3mm

Due to the high attractive force of the magnets, they have to be glued in - I simply used a drop of superglue.

Video incl. timelapse, you can find more stuff at my profile

Update (13.12.2023): I have uploaded the STEP data for those who need to adapt the shape for other magnets.

Works perfectly with the magnet sizes mentioned. I used a drop of super glue to keep the magnets in. They are VERY strong and the press fit was not tight enough to keep them in.

yes, that's necessary, that was clear to me, but I planned and constructed it that way. Thanks for pointing this out, my description may have been misleading. I have added it to the text.

ps.: You can also unscrew the camera mount, the screw can be found under the rubber seal :)

thanks for the tip! One thing I wish I would have thought of before printing it is a way to angle the camera slightly downward so I can position it higher on the door and still see the whole print. If I position it too low, it is below the print bed and I can't see the first layers! but if I position it too high, I can't see the whole print when complete. Right now I try to keep it somewhat in the middle and it works well.

Great camera mount! Way quicker to load up and better resolution than the built in P1S camera

Is this working/monitored directly in the Bambu Watcher? I was under the impression that you had to utilize a RTSP feed to access the video.

It's used to monitor through the Tapo app, which is the external camera this mount is made for. It works very well, and is a free app to monitor the prints reliably and from a different angle than the built in camera. I also believe the resolution of the camera is 2K (way higher than the built in)

Printed very good, only the supported overhangs are not perfect. The trees were not in the corner, so the corner isn't perfect.

I always use the Slim Supporte and have had no problems. In which corner did it cause you problems? I would like to check this and correct it.

Only the supported corners, but maybe it's my fault. But it's complaining on a high level and I'm still very satisfied :-)

I just checked my print, you can find a little hanging in the corner too. I hadn't looked at it before. I had several versions that always slipped off because the magnets were too small... In the end, I only paid attention to the hold xD

Vielen Dank!

Nice. My camera fit is great. I forgot to enable supports but no problem, some imperfections on overhangs.

Great idea, It's printed really nicely but sourcing the magnets seems to be my only issue in the uk.

which sizes do you get in the uk?

The easiest ones seem to be 20x10x3mm so quite a bit bigger.

that's pretty wide. Do you have other sizes, ideally ones that are available from several suppliers? If necessary, I can simply adapt this in a V2UK
