Description

Update: I have added a profile for people with NO AMS unit. For the NO AMS profile you will need to manually unload/load your filaments as described in the “Swap Instructions” in the order below at each pause.

IMPORTANT: READ BEFORE PRINTING

I have uploaded two 3MF Files along with the STL. The First for 1 AMS and the second for people with 2 AMS units.

To print this with 1 AMS unit you need to manually switch out your black, red and blue spools (slot 1, 2 and 3) to yellow (1) and white (2) and beige (3) when the black, red and blue have completed and fully retracted. You can replace them as they finish or wait until the orange starts printing, then proceeding to swap out all 3 spools as indicated above. (Note when swapping mid print the AMS unit does not auto feed the spool like it does before you start printing, so make sure you push at least three to four inches in and that the light indicator goes on. When it comes time to print the 5th color (white) it will feed as normal.) If you substitute colors results will vary.

If you have two AMS units just use the 2 AMS print profile, load the filaments as below and print.

If you do not have an AMS, fear not, you can still print this by changing your filaments manually.

Avoid other print profiles that try to save time by using a thicker layer height. This layer height is necessary to blend the colors.

This is a filament painting of Super Mario using original artwork. Like all of my models this is for personal use only. If you would like to hang this here is my frame which fits it perfectly. The photo attached is the printed model and frame.

Like all Hueforge prints this model produces very little waste (7 poops total).

Some of my other prints have more notes and tips for first time Hueforge printers.

Print at 100% infill with a layer height of 0.08mm with a base layer of 0.16mm

Filaments Used:
PLA BambuLab Basic Black Transmission Distance: 0.6

I finally found someone that split a print! How did you get it into 4 plates? I assume photoshop, resize, cut into 4, import into Hueforge, generate, then print?

Image work was done in Inkscape. I originally forged it at 200x200 so all the colors were already dialed in. When I set it up for a 4 panel print I scaled the vector to 400x400 and exported it as png. Then split the png to 4 equal 200x200 pieces. I loaded each of those into the original project with the already dialed in settings and saved them as 1,2,3,4. Then printed each separately. There are a bunch of threads about different tips and tricks for multi-panel prints in the hueforge discord. The seams between the panels aren't too bad, but I have yet to hang it because a friend is going to make me a custom wood frame for it.

yes. it is called hueforge. some images are easier to do than others, but join the discord if you get the app as there is a lot of information in there and people who will offer advice.
