Analog hygrometer holder in AMS

 

Digital hygrometers are very cheap and can be found anywhere on the internet. This also is the case for the many holders, most of the time a desiccant container for in between the First Stage Feeders of the AMS where the digital hygrometer can be placed. I tried those. But I experienced that the digital hygrometers were not very precise. Also, I like these analog hygrometers more because of the aesthetics and they don’t require batteries. Ever!

 

Features:

  • Choose filament to liking.
  • No support needed.
  • Fits snuggly in the AMS front between the second and third ‘First stage Feeders’.
  • Dimensions holder: height = 65 mm, width = 44 mm.
  • Diameter circle: 36 mm.
  • Cap can be used to glue in nuts to weigh down the holder.

Analog hygrometers can be purchased at AliExpress.

Activate/calibrate an analog hygrometer before first use.
Store it, wrapped in very wet tissue paper, in a small zip lock bag for 6 hours.
This will saturate the single horsetail hair that’s inside and calibrates it to 100%.
