Large rugged box to store tools, spare parts, accessories, etc.

 

Interior dimension

247 mm x 180 mm x 120 mm (90 mm box + 30 mm lid)

It's the maximum width I could fix on Bambu's 256 mm print bed

 

Material used

 

Box: PLA

Latch: PETG

Seal: TPU

The design of the box is great. I printed the box in PETG, which was also successful, but the box and the lid warped a bit after cooling, as it’s a large box. With a few ribs inside, this probably wouldn’t have happened. I will print another box but in PLA as the designer recommended. The designer used real M4x45 screws for the hinges and the locking mechanism. I printed some in PETG and it works as well.

Hello, great print, but you think you can move the rear hinges straight back about 2mm then you can add more material around the bolt holes to keep them from cracking?? Should NOT change the geometry ??

I really enjoy the Rugged, BUT 1 small issue. The rear hinges in the back ahs to little material around the threaded bolt holes??? I used Bambu PLA Marble and the holes cracked and broke 'ONLY" on the hinges!! Could you IF possible to add more material around them holes IF it will not cause issues?? I was going to TAP the holes,but NOT enough material, here are some pictures!! Other than that it turned out BEAUTIFUL!!! Love the 2 color for the LOGO!!

I highly recommend adding a brim for the bottom of the box. My first print failed due to warping.
