Description

Please note the non-commercial license on this item. You are NOT allowed to print and sell copies of this thing for a profit. Please send me a message if you want to print and sell.

This thing is a mount (two mounts, actually) that allows you to attach a Insta360 One X camera (or similar) to your drone for getting 360 degrees footage.

There are two different files, one mount is for the camera on top of the drone, the other is for mounting the camera under the drone.

Both mounts slides over the drone body (see pictures for correct orientation), and even if they clip onto (and holds reasonably tight) the drone by themselves, there are rubber band hooks on each mount to ensure they stay in place. You will probably have to widen the opening with your hands to clip the mounts over the drone body, as they are quite stiff.

Please note that the battery release buttons are used as sliding stoppers on both mounts, so that the mounts will not move back or forth. The flat section for mounting the camera is slightly angled so that it should be level when the drone is placed on a flat surface (and presumably this is also the normal flight attitude of the drone).

To maintain strength, they need to be printed in the orientation they are uploaded, and no supports are needed. Just pay a little attention for the first few layers, as the rubber band hooks starts out as little islands before they join the main body.

You will need to supply your own mounting bolt/screw, which is a 1/4-20 UNC bolt for a standard camera mount, and you will most likely need to cut it to length as well.

A final note: The bottom mount will block the optical flow sensor, and the camera you add will probably also partially block the ultrasonic sensor, so be aware of issues with this. You will of course also need to hand launch and land the drone if you have a camera mounted to the underside of the drone, so be very careful!

I don't have any suitable cameras, so I have not flown with these mounts myself, and I take no responsibility for anything that happens if you decide to use either of these mounts and add a camera to your drone.
