Description

Saw a checkerboard cake kit in the store the other day and decided I could make my own for cheaper, here is the result!

Note: Thicker cake batter works better, my white cake recipe was on the thinner side which results in messier “lines”.

The “arms” on the model are designed to center the mold it in the pan, depending on your specific cake pan, you may need to bend these downwards after printing.

Materials:

3 or more 9" cake pans.

Directions:

  1. Print one divider (food safe filament preferred)
  2. Mix two different color/flavor cake batters of your choice.
  3. Place divider into one 9" cake pan.
  4. Pour one color into the outside and center slots.
  5. Pour the other color into the middle slot.
  6. Remove Divider from batter.
  7. Repeat once for a second 9" pan.
  8. On the third pan, pour the colors in the opposite slots.
  9. After baking, stack cakes with the two identical cakes on the top and bottom, with the single cake in the middle.
  10. Enjoy!
