This is an insert designed to assist with playing and saving Hoplomachus: Victorum and Hoplomachus: Remastered by Chip Theory Games. Both boxes are utilized due to the size of the games' neoprene mats, however my primary goal was to consolidate all faction, hero, and enemy chips into a single location to aid in setup and varying subsequent playthroughs. For details on how to integrate these two games, please see CTG's official document here under “Other Downloads” https://chiptheorygames.com/games/hoplomachus/
A special thanks goes to js500 here on Printables and on the CTG Discord for his assistance and insight while developing this insert! The dice tray is remixed from one of his models and the chip dividers are also of his design.
A few people have asked if I will be updating this to accommodate the upcoming crowdfunding campaign for Pandora's Box expansions – yes, I will!
The Victorum box includes:
The camp trays are designed to replace the standard CTG trays on the world mat and provide some additional organization for tactics, arena units, arena-specific mechanisms, and prowess cards during a Victorum run. I tend to keep my extra dice, beads, and plastic swords in the rounded component area.
The stadium is still used to store faction chips (6 each), opportunity chips, and a set of dice. The camp trays can be utilized for a game of Remastered, though the non-Remastered chips will have to be set aside during the game if you wish to store your faction chips beside the health.
The Remastered box includes:
Creating the Save Tray lid was the most difficult part of the process. The tray is designed to maintain a few prowess and event cards based on your progress through the campaign, as well as to keep secure the plastic swords in the neoprene mat. During testing I was not able to provoke a sword to fall out while contained in the tray, however with the right angle it is possible for a sword to fit through a lid space. There is also a small amount of angulation along the card walls to secure position during vertical storage.
Vertical Storage:
Both boxes were tested for vertical storage, Victorum having a slight amount of lid lift while also housing the Hoplomachus dice tower and premium bag. If storing vertically, I recommend orienting with the stadium on top to ensure books/arena mats fully cover the chips at all times.
If you do not have the dice tower, or if you simply want a tighter fit, I've included a version utilizing spacers for the Victorum box: print the camp spacer, then choose between the faction spacer & short tray OR the tall faction tray (spacer is built in).
