Description

Remixed the Stackable AMS Shelf version from @GekoPrime

The original is very good althoug i wanted a few changes for myself as i got more and more ams units and i want to share my remix here.

*This version makes it a bit more attractive. by removing the unnecessary holes.

*There is now a straight and less visible reinforcement at the front that does not get in the way. But still retains its strength.

*Obviously AMS is COLOR. So I incorporated the logo on the sides. They are also visible without color if you are not patient because color changes take time.

*Now that I have my 3rd and 4th AMS, I can no longer put them all on top off the printer, so I adapted the same version and added one OPTIONAL build plate for the DESK VERSION. So then you can put a stacker on your desk next to the printer. And you can slide your build plates neatly underneath it.

*Everything fit together perfectly, just added some glue. Print profile has been tested and printed successfully with BAMBU PETG. the photos will follow.

*I made everything in PETG and will share my printprofile

I really enjoyed making this with the 2 color option and in PETG, Thanks for converting this file! BTW, the X bracing on your "remix" has an issue?? It will NOT accept a "BRIM" around them parts and it really, really needs a brim to keep the ends where the pins go from lifting off the plate, and it WILL !! I had to use the original designers file to make all the other parts! Other than that it works awesome and I really love the way it turned out with the black and green, it just POPS !

thanks for the good rating. i will check if i can add the brims. Normally when you go to "objects" and there you go to the tab "others" you can select 'inner and/or outer brim" per object Just tried it and i can change it However i prited it without a brim but it could be usefull depending on the buildplate type/glue used. Thanks for the tip/comment.

Hello, Yes I did that and it only put a brim around the pins, and not the X bracing! This is why I mentioned it. Also, mine did lift off of the plate on the ends where the pins go about 2 mm while printing. So I used the OEM designer's file to print the X bracing and that put a brim around ALL the parts.

Hi, just checked if you want you can just change it in the objects tab. If you select objects "web" you can chage brim to "outer brim" (it was not selected by default)

works as intended, however the X braces do crash on the lower ams lid making it difficult to open, used the straight ones and hasn't been an issue

Question... I currently have my single AMS on the right of the printer, on top of a storage organizer (the organizer is about 7.5 inches tall). I cant tell the size of your extra piece, will it clear? Picture of my setup below, would love to use this, with an extension on the bottom, to give me the clearance i need. Thoughts?

do you mean to put it on top of the organiser? or use one slot for the organiser and one for your ams? the feet of the stacker have width so that they just extend over the printer. the AMS just fits between the inside of the edges. the height of each piece is just enough to fit a roll of filament between them when the AMS is placed. If you want i can send you the original fusion360 file so that you can view/inspect the dimensions there? or if you want a particulier dimesnion or fit you can always ask. i can measure it and tell you.

When I printed the bottom piece for the version that stacks on the X1C, there doesn't appear to be holes for the front bar. When slicing it looks like there is a hole inside the model for the tip of the peg but it doesn't reach the outside edge.

Prepping the plates as i type this. Say i wanted to keep the bottom bay empty for storage purposes and place it on my desk, but still stack 2 AMS. Is this possible? I'd need 4 of the sides (plate 2) and 1 set of plate 4 (desk "feet")?

Stupid question, but are you supposed to print 6 extra pins to stack the bottom and top parts? It's the only thing not laid out on any of the build plates, but it doesn't seem optional in any way.

Yes, you are right. But you can print as many as you need. If you just use the first or last plate and only delete the connectors. The only thing on the plate left is the pins. Or if not yet printed you can clone them if you want. I wil make changes when i have the time.

Looks great, there is no hole on the front for the front bar on top of the AMS unit?

Hey, if you want a bar for the top AMS the design needs to be higher because the top AMS sit on top of the design as the bottom one sits between the side panels. But the whole idea was to have minimum bars and holes and only on places that they wont interfere when handeling the AMS units. For me the stacker is sturdy enough with only one front bar. the thoots that fot inside the bottom of tha ams als helps keeping everythin straight as the push the Side panel to the ams sides. if you want a adjustment i can always make one. but i think its not needed. It will only change the esthetics.

Printed flat beams again to replace the cross beams, that restricted full opening of AMS at the bottom. Whole model is great and really stable when one has more than 1 AMS. Mine are on the side of the printer though, not on top of it.
