Description

this is based off my other mini saber here https://makerworld.com/en/models/142757#profileId-155277

this one however has a removeable cap so you can swap out the blades to have a different colour.

PRINTING

print the blades upside down with tiny bit of supports for the middle piece

0.2 layer height for the main case and cap

can be up to .28 layer height for blades

Hello, I'm expecting trouble on screw (too thin I think) , did I miss something on parameters ?

Same. The screw part needs some work please.

Definitely needs a better screw or add a ridge for easier gluing. Also, "separate" in title spelled wrong - at least that's an easy fix.

Prints in PLA perfectly, the fact you can remove the bottom to place the rod pieces should prevent issues with rods sticking.

Printed the model/profile on P1S and PETG, it works but bad quality, if you throw too hard, the parts slide through very quick. Can you fix that like tighten the holes on top so it doesnt slide through?

I believe this is down to the filament or flow calibration since I’ve printed this model about 15 times and all work perfectly and I can’t slide them through even by pulling hard

yes man, my machine seem to be too good calibrated (calibration cube comes out 20.01x20.02x20.00x20.01) I could imagine that you need overextension at least slightly to make this work? 1-2 degrees more and it should work with well set up machines as well, my son would love it. we just printed it but if you apply a bit more power when expanding it, it’s just sliding through. material is bambu lab PETG

Replying to @joewilson09 :
another issue is the cap, it needs a brim, could you add that for future downloads? so people are able to print it right away from their phones without having to edit it.

Prints really well. The only drawback is the base can be easy to break when tightening up or being dropped by kids.

The sword does not go into the sheath?

the cap is hard to screw on and constantly falls off and breaks, the "raw model files" consists of just the case, the other file has the case cap and blades COMBINED SO YOU CANT PRINT THEM. what were you thinking about sending those files out
