Description

UPDATE: Due to makerworld changes I've been able to upload higher quality print profiles.  These use organic tree supports, smaller layer heights and are closer to the full resolution of the model.  Provided at 100% scale, 80% sclae (for A1 mini) and 50% scale.  Use the 0.28mm layer version if you want a quicker print though.  Best quality however can still be got by downloading the raw model and slicing yourself

For when you can't get enough flowers! A flower vase, made of flowers, for holding flowers!

Simple vase design - but decorated with a repeating pattern of a rose I 3d scanned. I was really happy with how it turned out, pictures doesn't really do it justice how gorgeous it looks in reality.

Modelled full size at 200mm high, confirmed can successfully print at 50% size - unsure if it will work any smaller.

WARNINGS:

  • model (especially at 50% size) requires significant tree support - which will take a while to remove. Unfortunately difficult to optimise for printing when working with complex 3d scan meshes
  • Print profile has been significantly simplified to pass makerworld upload slicing time requirement - it still prints well, but if you would like a more detailed version - download the raw stl and import into your slicer manually and simplify down to your desired accuracy - reducing down to 13mb size worked well for me. It will take a long time to slice (1 hour on my computer but it should work
  • Due to print profile simplification to meet slicing time requirement, print profile supports are currently “critical regions only” - it will still print fine, but if you want better quality at the cost of having more support to remove - I'd suggest turning that setting off

Let me know if you like it - I have some more ideas of 3d scanned flower based designs

Although there are some problems with the bottoms of the flower, the vase is still such a beautiful scene~ I also printed a candle holder and a rose to suit the scene, and it turned out to be so nice! Thank you so much for creating and sharing this~
