Description

This dragon looks AMAZING with triple or dual color silk filaments. One of the examples is printed with Eryone's Black/Gold/Purple and two of them are printed with Eryone's Red/Gold. The difference between the two red/gold versions is the orientation of the dragon on the plate. For best results print it diagonally on the plate with the lightest color on the belly side. You can see in the overhead example of the model on the plate that I printed that one with the light color on the back/tail side. That's the one that looks like a lobster from the front. LOL

I've included an extra plate with a partial head so you can test color orientation of your filament as well as practice support removal before printing the whole thing.

Removing the supports from this detailed model is a delicate process, especially from the head and mouth. Look at the model to see where the dragon's teeth, “beard spikes” and other head features are so you don't accidentally cut or break them off during support removal! Using Tree Slim supports with a pretty high Z distance gives you the best chance of a clean finished piece.

Some of my original tests with default settings didn't have a nice finish on the top of the head and left shoulder so I did several tests and have had the best results with the following settings.

Wall generator: Arachne

Layer height: .2

Nozzle: .4

Shell Layers: 5

Top Surface Pattern: Octogram Spiral

Supports: Tree/Slim on build plate only

this is a really nice dragon.. but can i give you some advice.. from what i can tell from the pictures.. you can definitely made the model supportless if you change the position of some of the hanging parts.. like the head looking upwards a bit.. positioning the hands.. repositioning the horns.. ppl usually like to print something that is easy to print and finish without hassle of removing supports.. your dragon has the potential for it too.. you'll definitely get more ppl interested in them if you made it easy for ppl to print.. since that is the concept of the bambu app.. ppl new to 3d printing get intimidated when they see support removal.. cause you need to break something off from your print.. anyway.. good work with the dragon.. looks like an amazing print..
