Description

Updates

  • 25. Jan 2024 - 3 new sizes available!

Want the beautiful organic look of voronoi AND the functionality of a twist-to-open box - then print this! Can be used as a bowl, stand or open container OR as a closed box - just twist to change!

Overview

The model consists of 2 parts - ‘Box’ and ‘Voronoi Lid’. They come in multiple sizes. You can print the smallest one to test it out, before printing a bigger one :-)

It comes in the following sizes:

  • Tiny (Dia: 30 - Height: 30 - great for testing it out)
  • Mini (Dia: 35 - Height: 35)
  • Small (Dia: 61 - Height: 40)
  • Medium (Dia: 81 - Height: 50)
  • Large (Dia: 113 - Height: 70)

Follow for more to come!

Assembly

That’s easy - print box + lid, and screw them together.

It might be a little tough to screw together in first try depending on the print quality - but repeat some times to help. And maybe clean the voronoi lid on sharp edges.

Print instructions

The Box is simple to print. But there is one tip:

  • Supports: No - not needed. (But the box has some bridging to make the handle on the bottom - printed just fine on my Bambu Lab P1S without supports)

Regarding the Voronoi Lid is a few tips here:

  • Supports: Yes - tree supports. (To support the different angles of the patterns. Requires some clean-up afterwards)
  • Speed: Low-medium (Depending on the printer, maybe slow it down, to keep the small areas stable while printing)
  • Orientation: The models are oriented in the correct print position

Happy printing!

Finally figured it out due to a little help from a friend and it looks great. I’m still taking off the supports from the bottom, but it worked great

I see that those doesn't look too good.. The profile worked just fine on my machine. An alternative option is to activate supports (auto) when printing that part. Those supports should be fairly simple to pull of afterwards, and should leave a better finish. If you decide to try, please share the results - hoping it will be better 😄
