The Valentines Dragon Egg is the perfect home for your favourite 3D printed dragon! As the next version of my original Scaly Dragon Egg with Threads this one features hearts as the scales! As always the overhangs can be printed for a smooth finish, and the two pieces have an addictingly easy to open and close thread ensuring a perfect alignment every time!

100% scale fits two Cinderwing3D Tadlings

150% scale fits a full size Cinderwing3D Dragon.

125% scale fits a 125% Crystal Dragon.

If you find what size fits other models, please comment and I'll update the description with credits to you.

UPDATE:I managed to fit the Rose dragon in the egg....it is really tight fit but it does go in. Great design, printed perfect threads are 100% perfect for alignment. Unfortunately it doesn't fit the full size rose dragon by ciderwing, I am afraid if I scale it to 175% to fit the dragon the threads might not line up any more and I hate to waste 8 hours just to find out.

I Haven't tested it with the rose dragon yet, but thank you for the feedback. My testing has found the threads line up at ever scaled tested including at 40%. I'd imagine 175% would work too based on my results.

Yes I can confirm that the full size Rose dragon fits....the trick is to flip the egg up side down and put the dragon head first on the top part of the egg then screw the botom part of the egg on it....just make sure don't cross thread the two parts, if the threads try to cross thread just shake the egg a little and the dragon will work it self in there to line up the threads. Thank you for the upload...fantastic print. I don't know what sorcery you used but the two parts always click aligned perfectly 😁

Where did you find the rose dragon? My wife wants me to print the heart egg and the rose dragon for our daughter for valentines.

I've printed about 10 of these with no problems, then all off a sudden I've been having problems in the last 30 minutes or so. Any ideas? Changed the hot end but still having issues.

That's very strange. I would check filament diameter and see if it's getting stuck somewhere. Also check your extruder.

@rob4747 Can you share more details and maybe some pictures? I tested this extensively and it always screwed down all the way with perfect alignment. I'd love more info to try and help troubleshoot your problem.

Default profile was good, though a .12 or .16 layer height is appreciated especially as you get near the top of the egg. If using a rainbow or similar gradient filament, then I suggest printing the egg 1 piece at a time for a more continuous color transition.
