Description

This is a light bar insert for DutchWorkX3D's AMS X3d-v3 Riser. I designed the insert to fit snugly into the riser where the glass top would fit into. The glass top can still rest on top of this light bar but as of now, I havent designed a recess for the top to fit into as I wanted this light bar to print flat on the build plate with no supports. The LED mounting area is tilted at a downward angle to better illuminate the print area.

The four perimeter sections glue together by keying the tabs into their matching slots. Each tab is different so you can't incorrectly glue the pieces together. There are four joiner pieces that should be glued into place to splice the light bar segments together for added rigidity. I used a thick CA glue and it worked fine.

This should fit any 8mm LED light strip. I chose a 5' long COB strip with USB connector:

I also purchased a USB on/off toggle switch which connects inline between the USB port on the front inside rail of your P1 Bambu printer and the light strip:

Amazon.com: ELECTOP 2 Pack Male to Female USB Cable with On/Off Switch, USB Extension Inline Rocker Switch for Driving Recorder, LED Desk Lamp, USB Fan, LED Strips : Electronics

The angled LED mounting area on the light bar has a shallow grooves along both edges that you can use your fingernail or a small flat head screwdriver to capture the LED strips to help keep them in place. You will still need to use the adhesive backing on the light strips.

I also allowed relief at each corner to allow the LED strip to buckle a little as it wraps each 90 degree turn.

The cut lines on the LED strip aligned perfectly with making a full wrap around the inside of the light bar. I used a couple pieces of double-sided foam tape to secure the on/off switch into the printer frame as shown. I tucked the excess wire into the frame as well and another piece of double-sided tape to hold the USB connector joint to the printer frame.

I wanted the switch because I want the option to turn it off easily if I choose. The light placement works well with the camera and improves the image quality.

Sorry to hear you thought it had an issue. It has worked perfectly for me. Can you be more specific to the problem?

here's an example of one of the connection points. this happened on 2/4. I reprinted one and "welded" the other to save time.
