Description

Here is my (mostly) 3D printed RC buggy

I called it the Thrush after the small and nimble ground bird, but people mostly associate that name with the disease.

It handles very well, and even tracks straight at higher speeds (check out the video on YouTube for more, and consider subscribing if you want to see more builds. I will also be doing CAD live streams to help whomever stops by).

Besides hardware, here are the off-the-shelf components you'll need:

Traxxas Bandit/Rustler/Slash (2WD) transmission assembly and drive shafts (front and rear)

12mm hubs and wheels/tires

Shocks 110-ish for rear, 95-ish for the front

V1 shock towers are for Arrma 3S BLX shocks

V2 shock towers are for slash/rustler/bandit sized shocks

And your own electronics of choice.

Body posts on V2 shock towers should fit most stadium truck bodies, I used a Losi XXX-T body. Post dont have holes, you can burn them in wherever your body sits.

How I Designed This

Solidworks

Had an idea (co-workers call me the idea guy) and a long passion for RC, so I just made a rough plan, bought some parts i think would work, and designed the rest off of very loose dimensions.
