Description

The upload I am most proud of! Over 40 hours of modeling, testing, printing, retesting, reprinting, I introduce the Fortnite Scar Model Gun! I made this as big as it could be while keeping the upper in one piece. Fully assembled, the gun is 22 inches long! It is not quite "life-size" but pretty close.

I think it's as close to perfect as it's gonna get but any suggestions welcome! I will update the model if you have a better way to print/connect a certain part. Prints on two plates - one black plate and one colored plate. I used Bambu Lab PLA Matte Desert Tan and Black

Experience Required. Reserve one hour for assembly. Super glue required. Round file recommended for prepping certain areas. I gently clamped certain parts for 60 seconds after gluing. Please review the model and pictures extensively before you decide to print! I focused on easy printing and simple connections. Have some patience post-print and you will be much happier than if you rush. Super glue can be messy if you don't take your time. Gently test-fit every piece before gluing. The weak point is the black part connecting the two tan parts. I have ideas to make this area stronger and may update the model later (I could extend the tan brace pins two more inches to go THROUGH the black piece and into the other tan piece. I will have to test this though) The top rail uses 4 alignment “pins”. One is shorter than the other 3. This shorter pin goes in the second hole from the front (you will see why). Trigger area not perfect on my last print (review pictures) but I added full trigger supports before uploading. Inserting the trigger was the “hardest” part. The mag area required the most inserting/removing/"breaking in" before gluing. Perfect to sit on a shelf.

I wanted my print HEAVY so it is 35% cubic infill. If i had to reprint and had more patience, I may even consider 40% or 50%! Lower this to 20% or switch to “support cubic” to save time and weight. First two hours of each plate has a lot of Z movement. Make sure your adhesion is dialed in. My final print has some imperfections up close but looks perfect from 2 feet away. Scaling not recommended - for example at 50% scale, my 5.7MM pins/6MM holes will turn into 2.85MM pins/3MM holes. The pins should really be 2.7MM if the hole is 3MM. This is just one example. Scaling may break tolerances.

This design is so thoughtful you could assemble without instructions, but if you watch the end of the YouTube video and review all pictures you can see exactly how it is assembled! Model started as a CC model by Skyrush and required extensive testing/fitting/modifying for 3D Printing + Assembly! You can't just hit print on a 3D model like this! I just received my 0.2MM nozzle and already brainstorming the best way to make a keychain version. Follow me for updates. All interactions/thumbs up appreciated. I am 100% MakerWorld Exclusive.

Any and all suggestions to make this model better welcome.

What video game item do you want to see chopped up next?!

And it is complete! This plate was definitely a one-and-done type of deal (no printing issues AT ALL). I was surprised by how easily the supports came off, as well as how it left the surface smooth. Everything fit together beautifully too! Very clean model, and it’s clear a lot of thought and time was put into this to make it as nice as possible. Overall, a solid print and an even more AMAZING model!!! Pictured in: • Kingroon PLA “Wood color” (note: this is the only tan filament I had, and it was suuuuuuper stringy. Nothing a little IPA rub-down can’t fix!) • Elegoo PLA+ Rapid “Black”

Printed great! I did have to separate the plate into two prints - one for the big pieces and one for the connectors/small stuff. I kept getting issues where the small pieces would get knocked off. My only suggestion would be to make those into separate plates. That way, you could also group the connectors closer together. Printing the tan parts right now, excited to see it all come together!
