Description

Upgrade your Tesla Model 3/Y with this backlit modular center console organizer tray. Designed to enhance both functionality and aesthetics, this organizer integrates seamlessly with your vehicle, offering personalized organization and aesthetics.

Update: Added the STLs for a version that is 10mm longer, if the current version is a bit too small for you. The only downside of this version is the single wall is easier to accidentally slot in wrong. Other than that it works well!

Features Overview

  • Ambient Backlit Design: The tray is designed to utilize the existing light within the center console, featuring a clear back section to allow for illumination, for enhanced visibility and aesthetic appeal.

  • Modularity & Color Customization: The organizer tray includes various inserts that can be positioned anywhere within the tray to customize compartment sizes and arrangements. Allowing for both functional, and aesthetic color customization.

  • 2 Tray Options: Select from a tray featuring a J1772 adapter hole or opt for a streamlined, flat tray design.

  • Sliding Mechanism: The tray is designed to slide within the center console's grooves, allowing for easy access to both the tray and the storage area beneath it.

  • Aesthetic Design Elements: The tray features grooves that not only secure the inserts but also create a textured, visually appealing effect.

Organizer Inserts

Single wall divider insert:

  • The divider wall offers unparalleled flexibility, allowing placement anywhere within the tray—even snugly against the edge, blending in seamlessly when not in use. This versatility means the divider can function as both a practical compartment separator and an aesthetic element, by printing the divider in a contrasting color to add personalized customization without the printing waist!

Multi wall inserts, with two design types each:

  • With a floor: which can be useful for color customization or to cover the J1772 hole if it's not in use.

  • Without a floor: utilizing the tray's base as the bottom surface, ideal for lighter customization needs or to accommodate the J1772 adapter hole.

Tray 3-D printing considerations:

  • The tray is designed for vertical printing, this streamlines the process by requiring just a single color change and eliminating the need for support structures.

  • All multicolor inserts only need a single color change.

  • I used PLA-CF for all the colors, except for clear PLA for the backlight.

Please let me know if you have any questions, and feel free to create your own modules to put inside the tray for even further customization! 😊

First off, this is a really good design. I actually happened to order a tray before I saw this, and am deciding to send my store-bought one back in favor of this one. However, PLA should not be used for inside car temps, it will get soft. Also, the back wall should be thinner so it requires no infill so that the diffusion works better. I have uploaded a PETG profile that I also sunk the part into the bed a little bit so that it makes the back wall 3 layers thick, which means no infill will be used. Print the back wall in white PETG and it comes out really well. This profile works well, but if you ever do update this model, I would suggest thinning out that back wall so that no infill is required. Again this is a really good design.

Awesome design! thank you for update with 10mm longer base! Additional request make it 5 mm deeper, or people can just simple adjust the setting in slicer. If you add 5 mm you can easily stuck cards vertically and be able to slide the bin back!

Thanks for the suggestion, you could definitely do that, but I pushed the floor down as much as I could without blocking access to the USB ports right beneath it.

Printed in ASA with the slot for j1772! Great design, simple and fits snug in console! Small suggestion, if you will make a new model: make it 10mm longer, my sunglasses have a hard time fitting in.

I remixed the original - it's not identical to the original but it is 10mm longer: https://makerworld.com/en/models/167931

@llDmKll really appreciate your suggestion, and glad you like the design! ❤️ Funny enough, I actually already have a version that is exactly 10 mm longer 😂. I tried it, and it does work well, but the only downside is the single wall is easier to accidentally slot in wrong. Other than that it works well! I went ahead and uploaded the raw STL files to the model. I don't have a print profile yet as I will need to do some more work to make that. But in the meantime, you can always use the STL's!

slight layer shift on the top of the tray towards the end of the print. The dividers ended up warping up pretty hard, will have to add a brim. Otherwise fits perfectly and works pretty well. Just need to make a profile for ASA and it's golden!
