3D model description

Add some whimsy to your Valentine's Day, anniversary, or wedding. Make a simple surprise for a loved one. These Flat Hearts are a fast, easy print. Use very little filament to bring big smiles!

Three sizes and two thicknesses are included. See the details in the 3D Printing Settings below.

Flat Hearts were inspired by a print that I had to stop after the first layer. The thin hearts were so beautiful that I decided to make some on purpose! The original inspiration is shown in the very last photo, however when designing these I decided to make them thicker than one layer so they wouldn't be quite so delicate.

Ideas

  • Capture interesting textures from your print bed.
  • Try one-layer prints for thin, delicate hearts.
  • Use translucent filaments. Glitter looks great too!
  • Stack the models in the slicer and use color swaps to get different looks.
  • Surprise a loved one with hearts in a card or gift bag.
  • Spread them on a desk or work area like confetti.

3D printing settings

Hearts are labeled as Small, Medium, or Large and I included thicknesses of 0.5 mm and 1.0 mm. You could rescale in the z-direction for any thickness desired.

Approximate xy sizes are as follows: Small 29 x 28 mm, Medium 44 x 42 mm, Large 58 x 56 mm.

I printed the 0.5 mm thick models with 0.25 mm layer height, 2 perimeters, and enough solid layers so that it is a solid print for both layers.
