3D model description

This film guide is often lost on old daylight developing tanks such as Rondinax, Essex or Kent. But without this part, the tank is actually worthless and can no longer be used. This film guide ensures that the inserted film can be threaded into the spool.

This STL file is based on a very complex 3D scan of an original. I spent a lot of time reworking and adapting it. It should fit in most of the existing tanks.

Until now, I have made this part individually on request and sent it out at cost price. Unfortunately, I increasingly lack the time for this and the parcel services with their postage costs make the decision for the analog enthusiast increasingly difficult.

3D printing settings

I have successfully printed with both FDM and SLA printers. It is important to print as finely as possible to minimize subsequent post-processing. Stability should also be taken into account. As all printers are different, it is difficult to give a binding recommendation here.

SLA printing should be followed by coating. For this, I recommend 2K automotive paint that is extremely resistant to laboratory chemicals.

For FDM printing, I recommend a layer height of 0.1 mm and at least 50% infill. The material should be PETG, ASA or PCTG.
