Description

This is a mount for the Panda Touch from BigTreeTech. I've been running the XTouch with the flip down screen so naturally I wanted to convert it for this screen. I saw Pretzel 3D did something like this, but there were a few things I wanted to improve to fit my use case as well maybe cutting down on some material and print time. Below are the changes

-Removed some of the material I felt wasn't necessary to be there to minimize the overall footprint and weight.

-Left in the initial cable channel from the original but switched to two attached clips to minimize material usage but also because of the new top channel. Use the first clip if going up out the top, or use the secondary clip if going off to the right.

-Added another cable channel in the top to allow sending the cable out the top and in through the hole behind the original screen [link below to spacer adapter] so you dont have to route it down the suggested hole on the top right of the printer.

-Increased the cutout in the bottom center to clear the 12C Interference plug on the back of the Panda Touch for the future when it is eventually used for addons such as a temp sensor…etc.

-Trimmed and optimized the bottom edge to allow for using the screen with the stand attached. It will work without it the same, I just know if I dont keep it attached i'll probably end up losing it. The stand will clear the original screen (see pictures).

-Made the model flat so I only had to run support material for the clips. **Without the stand there's about a 2mm gap (which is the cut out where the stand bolts up) that Pretzel's model compensates for (which causes need for more support), however for me (and only if the stand isn't attached) that little gap outweighs having to add support. Just remember the bottom screws wont tighten flush like the top. Hopefully that makes sense.

Post Print Hardware

4x M3x6mm countersunk screws for attaching the charging dock to the mount

2x M3x12mm screws for attaching the mount to original screen adapter

if you choose to use the spacer adapter linked below it just snaps in like the original screen and the original screen snaps in to it.

You can also download THIS ADAPTER for the original screen to sit out further and allow you to pass a USB cable behind it

I love this so much. Thanks for the print. Printed with PLA, default settings (whatever you used in the profile). Printed perfect. Used m3 screws all around and 2 m3 bolts for the hinge area. PS Not 100% sure who did the original at this point but please credit to everyone involved. I love this print so much. Cleaned it right up :)

No problem! Glad you love it. If you want to make it even better (and you have the patience to feed the USB cable through the opening behind the original display) you can get the spacer I linked at the bottom of the description and eliminate the need to run the cable along the top of the print down that hole for a cleaner look

Well, I tried for 20 mins and realized that the usb c end is too fat on my cable and my patience wore out quick so I left it under the conduit cover on the LMAO.

Yeah its a pain. You gotta do it before setting everything up cuz you'll wana go inside, move the padding/tape and remove the screws that hold that little circuit board in place so its easier to feed the cable through. Once you have it through, its smooth sailing. I fed a micro usb through when i first got one of my P1S's so i'm hoping to be able to find a slim USB C adapter for it to work with the panda so i dont have to worry about trying to rerun the USB C cable

What a great job, congratulations. I have a question about whether it is compatible with maCyo42 AMS Riser V2. I have another support, but when I want to see the original screen I have to take it off and it turns off. So your idea is great.

Thanks! I'm not sure as I never had that riser, however looking at it seems like the only problem you'd run in to is have far you'd be able to tilt the screen before the back of it hit the front of the riser part. So i think it would work, but you might not get the entirety of the tilt

Great model, thank you for the upload. Printed with the supplied profile using Bambu PLA Grey Metal PLA, color matches well with the P1S enclosure.

Very nice design! It interferes a bit with my AMS riser when i wanna open the glass. Is it possible to make a version where the top of the Panda Touch is flush with the top of the original display?
