3D model description

#DRAGONXCULTS

I designed a dragon head that is a fire starter.

When actuated, it opens its mouth and ignites the commercial lighter flame inside. When the actuator is released, the flame goes out and the mouth closes.

I used a classic large Bic lighter with oval tank.

In addition to the printed parts, a tension spring similar to the one in the photos and two M4 x 10 mm tank head screws are needed for assembly.

Steps for assembly:

  • Insert the lighter to the lighter holder piece.

  • Insert the wheel actuator piece into the body as shown in the picture.

  • Hook the spring into the body and then into the lighter holder.

  • Snap the lighter holder into the grooves in the body where it slides when actuated.

  • Shim the grooves of the jaw into the fixed pins of the lighter holder.

  • The jaw is passed down from the body and the jaw pins are fitted by securing it to the body in the front holes.

  • Attach the eyes to the head. They can be glued if they do not fit snugly enough.

  • Shim the head from back to front to engage the teeth of the joint with those of the jaw.

  • The two screws fixing the head to the body are placed.

and it is assembled.

To ignite it, the lighter holder is pushed forward at the rear, which opens the mouth and ignites the flame, and is held in the upper position as long as the flame is to be kept lit.

To extinguish simply loosen the pressure on the lighter holder. When released, the mouth closes.
