"Among the rising peaks of the Solโ€™Kesh highlands a single chirp pierces the morning calm. To the blister grubs tunneling beneath the stone cliffs this chirp is an explosion of sound, shattering the cliff face in minute craters and exposing the crushed insect for the little sparrow to snatch. Though small and skittish, these solitary birds have adapted their far reaching ability to communicate with each other over vast distances to a devastating effect when close. With a highly specialized resonating chamber in the form of their crested beak, they can chirp tight bands of sound that can shatter stone, as well as bone when threatened by larger predators."
