Description

Heatbed cable chain that clamps onto the rubber nub on the frame, and screws into the cable clamp on the bed. I printed the chain from PLA, but printed the piece that attaches to the bed from PETG. I plan to print it from ASA on my X1C as soon as it gets through with the 26 hour print it is on now. This should prevent the cable from crimping even if you lean the printer back or put it too close to a wall. Requires 2 - 3mm x 16mm or 20mm cap head screws, and 2 - 3mm nuts for the frame mount, 1 - 2mm x 16mm cap head screw for the bed mount.

Remove the 2mm screw from the cable clamp on the bed, and attach the bed mount with the required 2mm x 16mm cap head screw. Insert the 2 - 3mm nuts into the frame mount, butt the frame mount against the frame as close as possible, and attach with the 2 - 3mm x 16mm cap head screws, then assemble the rest of the chain

I used the same chain that I have used many, many times on various Creality and Geeetech printers for the Heatbed cable.

Since it appears that some cables are longer than others, I have added a file with only 4 extra links in it for convenience.

I don't know why the screws didn' t fix enough the part on the machine. It.s mooving when the printer is going faster. And the part on the bed unclipsed... And this makes abrasion on my cable...So not sure that this is the best thing

Interesting, do you happen to have a set of calipers to measure the diameter of the rubber nub sticking out of the printer? Some cables are longer than others, I wonder if the size of the nub varies as well. My 2 A1's are going 24/7 and holding tight.

I think you miss 1 element, it is too short with 19 elements or did I attach it wrong?

yes, I believe in the presentation photo, there are 20 elements, I print them, but not yet installed.

It works for me with 19. Maybe some of the cables are a little longer?

I just uploaded a new .3mf with 20 links. You should be able to just delete everything except one link and get that extra one you need though.

Seems to be working well! I needed to print an extra link for a total of 21. wondering if the variation in cord length is part of the strain issue.

Maybe so. Maybe the shorter cables like mine get more bending stress and fail more often???

Question, what kind of filament or color is that?

Keeps the cable straight, clacks around a bit depending on the filament

All these bright colors look so good on the A1! I was boring and printed mine in black...
