Description

For Star Wars fans and beyond...

Lithophane with chase scenario between Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader.

THE VISUAL EFFECT IS POSSIBLE EVEN WITHOUT LED OR ADDITIONAL LIGHTS AT THE REAR. as you can see from the photos even by exposing it to the sun. With LEDs, it is more clearly accentuated

the rear lithophane is in Bambulab PLA, the green lasers in transparent TPU, the diorama in Bambulab gray PLA.

simple model for gift or as a collector's item

I created the image with certain plays of light to enhance the lithophane objects. It prints with any FDM, low speed, four perimeters and 100% infll. layer height 0.12

File:

  • Litho plane
  • monocrome (litho curve, negative laser, laser , diorama monocrome)
  • diorama multicolor

It can be printed with PLA with light colors.

If you use the colored ones, you will have different effects.

for lithpohanie, load the file in bambu studio together with the negative laser file. In the object properties, give the laser the negative characteristic (it will be subtracted from the lithophane)

there is no need for any support

I scaled it up about 150%, and did a little coloring. I should have paid more attention to the lithophane thickness when scaling because it’s a little thick now, and hard for the light to pass to show image, but that was my mistake. Still looks great just wish I would have caught it beforehand.

Scaling it to 150%, the thickness of the lithophane becomes important. you should try to make the external edge thick (for fitting with the diorama) and the internal thinner. We would have to create a negative shape and apply it in the slicer. Option two, thin the layer by carving the surface in graphics programs. In any case, nice result

honestly i feel like that makes it slightly better, i was thinking of placing it in front off the lighting behind a Tv cabinet which is rather bright. Would you maybe like to upload a remix or so ?

Printed in Geetech PLA Green because I have no TPU in this color. Used a layerhight of 0.16 an a Brim. Had a view gaps, where the backlight shines thrugh, but no problem for me. I think TPU is the better choise to close the gaps.

I'll do some research and see what can be done. Did you have something specific in mind?

Great model, I am just having trouble adding the laser as a negative part. I loaded both files to the project and made the laser a negative part but I cannot change the color and it is not filling in the gap on the print. What am I missing?

The NEGATIVE LITHO CURVE file must be loaded together with the LITHO CURVE file. The ownership of the file must be changed to negative. The lithophane is printed with the parts without laser. Finally, the LASER ON BED file must be printed and inserted into the holes
