Description

The Multi-Mission Recovery System (MMRS) is a powerful vehicle designed to retrieve and repair disabled military vehicles in challenging environments. It boasts a 360-degree rotating boom with a 41-foot reach and impressive lifting capacity, handling even heavy armored vehicles. Its all-wheel drive and advanced suspension tackle tough terrain, while operator safety is prioritized with armored protection and remote controls.

I am very thankful to Mr Benoît Lussier for his feedbacks which has helped me refine the model further.

There are three ways to print this.

  1. As single piece:- Please download STL file but there wont be any movements.
  2. Multiple Pieces :- Download 3mf file with Full_dismantled.3mf.BEST QUALITY OUTPUT. Please use the 3mf file for assembly also. CHECK EASE OF PRINTING TITLE BELOW
  3. Combined:- You may use any 3D viewer software like 3D builder in windows to merge components according to your printer and filaments. The sky is the limit for this. You may find a sample file ending with combined.3mf.

EASE OF PRINTING

  1. Print the wheel axles at minimum 60% infill Density
  2. The 14th and 15th Plates can be printed with filament change for the brand names on the top, if you choose so.
  3. It is recommended to print Plate 16 with PETG.

ASSEMBLY OF MODEL

This is done in 7 steps. Please follow the steps.

 

  • 1)_ASSEMBLY OF UNDERCARRIAGE

Attention:- There are three sizes of bolts used in undercarriage assembly.  The bolt(2 in number) used for the tilt arm of the 2nd axle is the smallest ones. The bolts(2 in number) used at the ends of the front to rear axle counter link is the longest while rest are medium bolts. Ensure nominal movements( not too tight and not too loose) between the links for perfect working. 

You can either use a piece of filament or metal locking pins through the holes in the bolt to lock the links  or you can glue to heads of the bolts to its counterpart. Gluing will work for all the joints except at the inter axle links. There you may have to you a metal lock pin or filament.

STATIC DISPLAY LOCKING

The are specific mechanisms provided by which various links can be locked in different poses. Please use a small piece of filament to lock the links as shown in the instructions below

Movements Included

1)ELEVATOR MOVEMENTS

2)SYNCHRONIZING GEARS

3)TURRET MOVEMENTS

4)FRONT DUAL WITH REAR COUNTER STEERING

NOTE The tolerances to some elements are zero which has been intentionally provided to friction lock the elements while not in movements. You may have to fine tune the tolerance from your end using scaling function in slicer to ensure good fit without compromising movements. This also applies for the pins that make rotation possible between elements. Please proceed with printing all the pins after testing printing a pin and testing the fit of a joint. You should be able to find the adequate scaling factor with this.

 

Supports should be provided as required.

The model is really nice... BUT the gif instructions are so annoying and unclear... how was I supposed to know that I shouldn't press the white box fully into the chassis? And of course, I glued it and had to break it off now. also, why are these two "piston" white parts each different? One of those won't work at all... It's an amazing model but I'm getting so frustrated while assembling... I hate gluing flat surfaces together... I'm gluing the chassis for the 4th time right now...

Hallo, Super Projekt das ich gerne Drucken möchte , scheitere aber momentan daran das ich diverse Teile wie den Ausleger und das Chassis nicht in Einzelteile mit mit Superslicer oder Cura zerlegt bekomme , momentan drucke ich noch mit einem Ender S3 bzw. Anycubic Vyper, möchte mir aber in Kürze einen X1C zulegen , wo liegt mein Problem

Hallo, verwenden Sie die STL-Datei oder die 3mf-Datei? Sie sollten die 3mf-Datei verwenden. Wenn das Problem bei einer 3mf-Datei auftritt, könnte es sich um ein Slicer-Problem handeln. Obwohl ich bei diesen Modellen weder Cura noch Superslicer verwendet habe, könnte es beim Import zu Problemen kommen. Bei Bambu Studio werden wir immer gefragt, ob wir das Modell als mehrere Objekte oder als einzelnes Objekt mit mehreren Teilen importieren möchten. Vielleicht könnte es so etwas sein.

Hallo, Danke für die Info, ich hatte die stl. Datei genommen , mit der 3mf. kann ich alle Teile im Superslicer importieren. Dann kann ich jetzt loslegen

First off, the model is beautiful and looks absolutely fantastic, but why in the world are you the one suggesting tolerances for the community? I shouldn't have to constantly make test prints until I figure out the correct tolerance for the axles. That was supposed to be your responsibility. After all, you're meant to upload a profile that's ready to print. With zero tolerance, scaling the doors isn't even an option. Either the doors fit the pins but not the cabin frame, or the other way around. I must say, the model looks fantastic, but it's incredibly tedious to print if I have to find all the tolerances myself. And why didn't you design the wheels in two parts? That way, the tires could have been printed with TPU. Additionally, incorporating a steering mechanism (known as "Hand of God") would have been a nice touch.

Hi there, thanks for the feedback. I will certainly look into the suggestion about the steering mechanism. Splitting TPU wheels would have been good but I think it should be a decision taken by the maker in accordance with their filament and machines. Most of the makers use PLA and so I have tried to provide that in the print profile. Regarding the tolerance issue that you have pointed out. I think the readme might have caused some small misunderstandings. The warning provided in the read me refers to some parts which are expected to have zero tolerances such as pins between two joints. The logic for this recommendation is also given in the warning which is to ensure that there is a friction lock in the joints enabling the parts to be oriented in specific positions without any external parts. To explain more consider the boom of the truck. It has tilt mechanism which is achieved by a pin joint at the base of the first boom hand. If this pin is able to lock the arm in any position due to friction, it would be ideal than the pin lock provided. For such a friction locking to be achieved between parts, there needs to be almost zero tolerances between the parts. It's just a advisory statement. Moreover I have tried to make this clear in the print profile readme also that I have taken care of everything. You as a maker is expected only to print and assemble. I have also tried to refine the model with feedbacks from makers. I hope I was able to settle the issues you have pointe out. Please do let me know if you have any further feedbacks. I try to reply at the earliest. I wish that you would certainly try my model now.
