3D model description

Boxes for small parts, the lid is kept open or closed by the square shape of the axle. The boxes can be put together to form assortments of any size.

3D printing settings

tested with 0.4mm Nozzel on FDM printer. Please comment on tests with other technologies here.

No supports for box and cutting insert. The lid requires supports. After insertion, the hinge insert is fixed on the back with a piece of filler. The hinge inlays may need to be slightly deformed so that they can be inserted.

Assembly sequence

First, the hinge inserts are placed on the axles of the cover. Then put everything together on the box. The hinge insert is then fixed in place from behind with a piece of fillament. The hinge inlays and hinge run much better with a drop of silicone oil.

The axle is intentionally square and the claw of the cutting insert is open at the top. The spring action of the claw engages the lid and keeps it open or closed.

Several boxes can be put together to form a tray of any size. It is important to note that new boxes can only be inserted into an unoccupied corner if it is on the top left.
