UNC Tar Heels floating logo sign. THIS IS A MULTI-PART LOGO, that means it does not require an AMS! This type of design has three benefits-

1. No AMS/Multi Material system is required to print any of my signs.
2. All forward facing parts can be printed face down, allowing the texture of the build plate to be visible.
3. These are designed with different layers at different heights, so you get a unique 3 dimensional look.

Most components should be able to be assembled using the tight tolerances only of the press fit pins and sockets, however there may be some small pieces (logo dependent) that might require manual placement and/or CA glue. ProTip- if CA glue cures without an accelerator, it may leave a smoky residue. If you apply a thin coat of WD-40 and wipe away, this residue will disappear.

The base is modeled with an integrated sawtooth hanger with standoff feet as well as a hinged kickstand. This allows any of the signs to be wall mounted or placed on a desk/shelf.

The large holes in the logo and base are designed to accept TPU adapters. The purpose of these adapters is to accept ⅜” (10mm) acrylic rods with slight manufacturing diameter deviations. This allows the acrylic rods to be installed and removed easily, while remaining secure. The inserts are designed with a 2 degree draft angle to lock them in place once installed (see assembly render below). I generally print these in clear TPU or a matching color TPU if I have it.
