Description

Here we have and what I can only describe as my biggest 3D Model print up to this point.

This is Spot the Lamp a Canine Desk Lamp or Spot Light, he answers to both.

I saw an image of a lamp like this and thought I would quite like to have a go at designing such a thing and this is the end product.

There is one thing to bear in mind with this lamp is that it's quite big, and the print times are lengthy but I wanted it to be a feature and talking point and it certainly achieves both.

Spot can be placed in a number of positions ie sitting laying prone to the desk etc etc.

The model uses the Bambu LED Lamp kit and I wanted to re use the lamp as its the only one that I have so it's a loose fit and needs something like sellotape around the perimeter of the lamp holder to secure it as I've used, if it becomes a permanent feature then I would glue it in.

The tail and the neck components are a loose fit, not intentionally but I made some spacers, 1mm and 0.5mm to combat the gaps as they need to be a pretty snug fit to work properly.

The fasteners I've designed are a snug fit, these are printed at 100% Rectilinear Infill for added strength and have coin slots to tighten, don't apply too much pressure or they could break.

I've really enjoyed this project and the finished model looks great, and it's a very useful lamp as well giving great light in all positions.

Thank's for looking.
