3D model description

Dear Z3 enthusiasts,
Thank you for your interest into my subwoofer enclosure design.
I came up with the idea after my wife gave me a 3D Printer as a gift for my birthday in 2020. During the Covid lockdowns, I had some spare time to teach myself how to operate the printer and how to create 3D drawings (CAD-Files). I haven‘t had done any of it before. The learning curve has started at zero and went up steep. So if you find any design flaws or consider my technical solution as not very professional, the reason it simple: It wasn‘t done by a professional ;-)
However, I have tested two designs myself and consider it as a big improvement compared to the OEM subwoofer system. I have tested it with the original amplifier of the „Sound System“ with 2x2 Ohms speakers and a digital amplifier and a 4 Ohms subwoofer.
My judgement is based on my subjective perception, and I do not have profound knowledge of car HiFi systems, resonance bodies, mechanical design or 3D printing. So please make up your own mind and do not rely on solutions that worked for me. No guaranties given!

It was a journey of probably 500+ hours and $1000+ total investments for me. It will be a journey for you as well, but probably shorter and cheaper, hopefully, but this is not a „ready to print and place“ solution. After the printing, there is still some work to do.

I provide you 3 different Designs:
1.) Big Box with two ports (mouting diameter 145mm & 136mm)
2.) Big Box with one port (mouting diameter 145mm & 136mm)
3.) Covered Box with one port (mouting diameter 145mm & 136mm)

All designs come in at least 3 variants: For Max-size printers (3 Parts), Plus-size printers (4 parts) and small printers (6 parts).

After printing, all parts can be glued together. That worked well for me.
