3D model description

This is a redesigning of the great projekt of jscaylors hovercraft.

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2700850

I have designed all parts new on Inventor because the resolution of the original-stl files are too low. So I improved some things and made a 4s lipo version.

See in action:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OeePjqzvTq4

The new things:
- lots of space for electronics and battery
- lid for the electronics with clips
- protection for lift and throttle ducts
- ring instead ob clips to hold the skirt
- get the cage with the rudders off to change props in the back easily

my electronics:
- 2x 40A hobbywing skywalker V2 (soldered together on one XT60 plug)
- 4S 2200 lipo
- SG90s Servo 9g
- 2300kV 2207 motors (from fpv) (16x19 holes)
- Gemfan 5051 3-blade propellers (lift propellers i had to cut)
- Any 3 Channel radio will work if you can limit the 3rd channel (you wonโ€™t drive with 100% lift motor, it is really loud)

I have limited the lift motor with dualrate up to 40%, placed it on channel 3 and get 5-7min runtime.

For the skirt I have used a garden furniture tarpaulin.

Note that the hovercraft is only working on flat surfaces. So parking lots, paved courtyard entrance, frozen lakes and any surface with snow will perfectly work.
For driving on water you should make your electronics waterresistant and add a ring of styrodur into the skirt. The yellow styrodur ring you can see in the pictures.
On grass or other uneven surfaces the hovercraft wonโ€™t work!

Most oft the parts i printed with a 0.8 nozzle, because it is much faster, but you can also print all things with a 0.4 nozzle. Supports you will only need on the thrust duct.

screws:

for rudder on back grid:
9x M2x12

rudder-grid on thrust duct:
6x M3x6

thrust duct on upper hull
8x M3x10

motor mounts:
8x M3x12

Lift duct in upper hull
4x M3x6

Protection grid on lift duct
4x M2x4

lower hull on upper hull:
5x M3x10

lower skirt ring:
15x M3x6 countersunk head

upper skirt ring:
16x M3x6

protection grid on the frontside on the thrust duct is only glued
