3D model description
MAKE SURE YOU READ THE WHOLE DESCRIPTION SO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE GETTING INTO BEFORE PURCHASE!!!
This kit has been my passion project for the past year, the idea was primarily born from my frustration of the lack of availability of a proper looking Groza for the airsoft market, with no good options I decided to try my hand at making one. Unfortunately I had to make a few compromises with the kit, such as lack of quick swappable grip assemblies as well as having to use store-bought parts like grub screws, despite that I think I've given this abomination the representation it deserves!
Disclaimers:
- I am not responsible for any personal property you may damage while assembling my kit.
- This kit requires a decent amount of time as well as DIY work (Possibly making springs and bending spring wire).
- Please make sure you are aware of the parts required for assembly that aren't included in this kit.
- While this kit can be added to your GHK AK non-destructively, I have Included a replacement AKS-74U hinge block which is both more accurate than the standard GHK, as well as providing a solid lockup for the carry handle.
- Due to having a 3D printed trigger guard I Have designed this kit to be used with the stock GHK pistol grip, if you have an aftermarket pistol grip, shoot me a message and I'll see about compatibility
- The Receiver, Top cover, Pistol grip and Upper handguard shown in the images above are NOT included with these files, I am not the creator of them, I am only using them for display purposes.
- The mag shown in the cover image is not included in this kit
Requirements:
While you can technically use any folding stock trunnion GHK AK as a base, you will need to buy some parts if you do not have an AKS-74U base gun.
You will need:
- GHK/LCT AKS-74U Gas tube + Upper Handguard
- GHK/LCT AKS-74U Hinge block/top cover assembly
- AKS-74U Length Piston (not critical as you can just remove the standard length piston)
- AKS-74U Length barrel (steel barrels should work fine but I can't test fitment. If you have problems fitting my kit to a steel barrel please contact me)
- ~Any standard AK Front Sight post (LCT AK-105 and GHK AKS-74U have been tested)
And for the elephant in the room, you will need a TWI Kochevnik trigger bar, I will have a model of it on my profile, but I can't guarantee that it will even work at all. As of writing this, airsoft world has them in stock so if you are interested in this kit I would recommend ordering one from them.
Required hardware:
- You can find an image with all the required parts laid out above.
- Pretty much all of this can be found on amazon, although I'd recommend buying local if you can.
- I would HIGHLY recommend just buying sets for everything listed below instead of searching for individual parts (i.e., Grub screw set, E-Clip set)
Grub Screws:
- 2x M3*4
- 6x M4*4
- 1x M4*6
- 2x M4*8
- 1x M5*6
- (1x M3*5) Replacement for hinge block grub screw
Screws:
Nothing really specific required, just anything that will securely thread into the parts
self tapping screw for front of trigger guard
- 2x Random self tapping screw I had laying around\
11mm top of head to end of thread
9mm thread length (ideally a bit longer by ~5mm)
4mm thread diameter
E-Clips:
- 3x 4mm Inner diameter
- 1x 8mm Inner diameter
Spring Wire:
2x 1/32 Inch Thickness (22 Gauge)
For the Muzzle latch and Rear sight
1x 1/64 Inch Thickness (28 Gauge)
7mm Outer width
5.75mm Inner width
12mm length
For the Rear sight disc
For the trigger bar I have used 1mm spring wire, and bent both sides into loops, there is an image above showing the length
If you have any trouble with assembly, or if there are any errors with the files, leave a comment and I'll do my best to get you sorted
Much more coming soonβ’!
