I would suggest using organic tree supports and if you have an AMS system use PETG for the supports as it will make removing them alot easier as it does not adhere to PLA
This is an awesome model! But I'm posting just to make everyone aware of some issues. I printed to my P1S from my phone app, using the designers original profile. Unfortunately, they used standard auto supports that made a mess of everything. The worst part is all the supports inside and under the rifle and helmet. I'm trying to salvage it, but after 30 minutes I thought I'd take pictures. I may try again, but I would definitely recommend organic Tree supports, maybe even paint them on. (yeah, I should have done that first but I saw it and went for it!). Bambu P1S w/ Sunlu Silk Silver Filament.
It must have been a mistake on my part as I normally always use Tree organic supports as I find them so much better to work with, I will check the model later this week and do an edit if it is on there wrong
Well the notes on the model covers everything , they are written for a reason complaining about things that I have taken the time to explain that you never read is a bit much, but you are also free to make one yourself as well.
Giving the model a bad rating because you never read the notes I took to the time to write to explain how to get the best results with the free model I uploaded is out of order.
Support Issue:Failled printing 3 times, mostly because the oversized head is so close to the body that it is near impossible to have effective support.
In addition, the neck is very weak, and broke when i tried removing the support.
Without wanting to sound confrontational this model has been successfully printed many times by many different people, so why not ask for advice before leaving a bad rating cause clearly the problem is not the model
Hi Daneti,
Thank you for your comment, but I stand behind my rating. As you surely know, we are asked to rate the printing profile, with the expectation that the model will just print.
This is not the case with this print profile. It simply won't print properly without significant adjustment.
I suspect that there are 3 issues:
1. The model has a very large head with a near flat base that requires significant support to build. Unfortunately, the proximity of the body and gun get in the way, making it difficult for the slicer to properly brace the head.
2. This looks like a scan of a real Funko, but is lacking any reinforcements at the neck, making pretty hard to remove the support without breaking its neck
3. Lastly, your post mentioned "Minimal Supports". Yeah, no.
My expectations on Maker World is that models should just print properly on a Bambu Labs printer. And so far, that has been the case - every print from a downloaded model worked fine. Except this one.
