This travel chess set is based on Josh 3-D's model, which I thoroughly am impressed with. I wanted to recreate this design to be magnetic, as my own children tend to be clumsy and lose game pieces all the time. To ensure a snug fit, the g code has a pause at layer 35 for the magnet installation process in the chess board. Please make sure you add a small amount of adhesive before inserting the magnets and give this approximately 5-10 minutes to dry. (I used a insta-cure type of glue) This step is essential to prevent the magnets from dislodging and adhering to the printer's nozzle during printing. Typically, this pause occurs approximately an hour and a half into the printing process.

Although using magnets may seem straightforward, I initially struggled with determining their correct orientation. To avoid any confusion, I recommend marking the top of each magnet before gluing it into the model. You'll notice in the photos provided where I marked these magnets. When inserting the magnets, it's advisable to start from the back of the build plate for ease and to prevent them from getting too close together, as they may become permanently attached. Additionally, each chess piece features an insert for the magnet, which should be glued in after printing for added security.

Lastly, the king and queen on the final build plate have dual colors to distinguish the difference between them and the regular pieces. Id recommend alternating queen and king colors to help distinguish that as well. There are 4 queens and 2 Kings on the final build plate.

The entire print took approximately 12 hours to complete on my A1 MIGHTY (a1 mini).
